This exciting project will transform the popular Jarrow Community Facility into a multi-purpose leisure facility and new library.

By remodelling the existing gym, sports hall, dance studios and theatre space, new life has been breathed into the building, complemented by the construction of a new glazed entrance tower, new canopy, and major changes to the external façade that help to brighten the appearance and make for a much more engaging and inviting space.

As with all refurbishment & extension schemes, this project had its challenges, particularly with the construction of the new steel framed glazed tower over an existing ramp, and the coordination of the steel canopy that is cantilevered from the existing primary steel frame.

Upgrades to the main theatre space have seen works to strengthen the existing orchestra pit and stage area, to open-up the theatre to more high-profile performances.
